Would a Dog Make a Good Gift?
When I was asked this question, I was specifically asked if a dog would make a good Christmas Gift. However the answer applies to all holidays including Birthdays and Just Becuase gifts.

The answer is a resounding NO. Unless of course you have spoken with the person you plan to give it to and they are ready for the responsibility of owning a pet.

There is a sharp increase in the number of animals that are killed by veterinarians and animal welfare societies immediately after Christmas and during the summer months. Why? Because these animals are bought on impulse as presents for people that really didn't want a puppy and in the summer because the puppy becomes an inconvenience when the people are taking a holiday vacation.
