Should I Get a Male or Female?
In general a female will fit in with normal family life better than a male. Females are more affectionate and easier to control and they are often gentler with children.

The problems associated with female dogs is primarily related to her heat periods and the possibility of her having unwanted puppies.

I suggest you have her spayed. Spaying will help to keep the pet population down and it will be the responsible thing to do.

I also have a male dog and he is wonderful! Remember temperment depends on the training and the envoironment as well as the gender and the breed. Male dogs can be a wonderful addition to any home.
